5月22日、入江研究室では、米国のLawrence Livermore National Laboratory（LLNL）のDonald Lucas博士をお招きし、特別講演会を開催しました。

On May 22, the Irie Laboratory Special Seminar by Dr. Donald Lucas of the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) in the United States.

Lucas博士は、入江教授がかつて（JAMSTEC）Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technologyに在籍していた際の同僚であり、現在はLLNLにおいて研究をされています。当日は、博士の研究内容やこれまでの経験についてご講演いただき、学生・研究者にとって大変貴重な学びの機会となりました。

Dr. Lucas was a colleague of Professor Irie when he was affiliated with the Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC), and he is currently conducting research at LLNL. During the event, Dr. Lucas spoke about his research and professional experiences, providing a valuable learning opportunity for students and researchers alike.

講演後には大学近くで食事会を開催し、少人数ながら和やかな雰囲気の中で親睦を深めました。研究に関する意見交換だけでなく、日米の研究環境やキャリアについても活発な話題が交わされ、有意義な時間となりました。

After a seminar, we held a dinner gathering near Chiba-university, where we deepened our bonds in a relaxed atmosphere, despite the small group size. We not only exchanged views on research but also engaged in lively discussions about research environments and career paths in both Japan and the United States, making it a very meaningful time.
